need help for these events. For many of our activities, we need people who attend them
to learn about how they are run, then act as standbys or alternates. We
also need people to take leadership positions in “new” events such as
meetings (best done with several people if planning to have an outside

Explore the sea life near our
beaches with American Littoral Society biologists. We’ll be searching
shallow shorelines and sea grass beds, observing, collecting, and discussing
the natural history of some of the many interesting fishes and other
animals that inhabit Sarasota Bay. No charge but donations always
welcome. Saturdays from 9:30-11:30 am. Wading shoes
suggested.

on learning experience about the critters of the Bay and views of nesting
bird life on board the Carefree Learner (large covered pontoon
boat.)

Trips

easy walk from a Gulf beach through dunes and mangrove forest to a lagoon
off Lemon Bay led by Bruce Dayton, PhD. We will discuss how water,
sand and living things interact to create our dynamic and beautiful barrier
islands.
Meet at 9 am. at the Blind Pass building. Trip lasts about 2 hours. No charge but you must call for
reservations at (941) 650-2487.

a leisurely walk on of Venice's great beaches with naturalist Bud Doyle. We'll
talk about the Gulf of Mexico: its tides, currents, and storms. Along the way, we'll identify
shells, sharks teeth,
birds, fish, and plant life. All
beach nature walks begin at 9 am and conclude at 11 am. They are free of
charge.

Quiet Water Kayak Trips,

Leisurely paddling and observation at a variety of sites difficult to visit
by any other means. Kayak, paddle, life vest, etc supplied. If you haven’t used
a kayak before, a short training session before the trip will get you going.
